In preparation, have any pencils (colored or not), crayons, markers, etc. that you might want to use. 

Slowly and reflectively read through the psalm.

Look/listen for a word, phrase, or image that sticks out to you from the psalm and write it on the space provided.

Read the psalm again. As you reflect upon it, draw whatever picture/image comes to mine. (Don’t allow yourself to think, “Oh, I’m not much of an artist. This isn’t about producing quality art but engaging with God. Imagine yourself as a child drawing a picture for/with your dad.)

Read the psalm a third time. This time, simply write/journal what God is teaching you through the passage, or why it’s meaningful to you, or what God might be inviting you into.

(Remember, don’t rush…lovingly linger.)
