Wednesday (4/30)

Read Romans 8:23-30

What is the hope that verse 24 is referring to?

Where do you struggle to hope?

I think it is beyond words to think of the Spirit going to the Father on my behalf when I’m not even sure of what to pray.  What is in your heart today that you may not have words for, but want the Spirit to pray on your behalf for?

What is declared true of us in verses 28-30?

Write out your simple definition of the following (could also be a definition that we’ve gotten from Pastor Andrew or Pastor Jess!)

Predestined:

Called:

Justified:

Glorified:

Tuesday (4/29)

Read Romans 8:19-22

This passage about the creation is such a visual picture. How does your mind picture ‘creation waiting in eager expectation’?

What about ‘creation groaning’?

Remembering that the creation was also cursed in Genesis 3,  how is it tied to our liberation?

Monday (4/28)

Read Romans 8:18

What are your ‘present sufferings’- sit in these this morning, take time to write them out, present them to Jesus.

How can this verse be realized as truth today, for you personally?

Sunday (4/27)

Spend some time this morning sitting quietly before the Lord preparing your heart for corporate worship. Listen to some music, pray, rest in the Father.

Journal about anything that comes to mind.

Saturday (4/26)

Read Romans 8:1-17

Do the “Know, Be, Do” questions throughout the chapter.

KNOW (What does the text say about God?)

BE (What does the text say about us?)

DO (What is the text calling me/us to do?)

Write out the whole verse that you want to stick with you throughout the day today:

Humbly ask for the Spirit’s help to grow through the word.

Friday (4/25)

Read Romans 8:14-17

God calls Himself our Father. How does this make you feel? (we can often have many feelings around this word ‘father’ depending on our relationship/ lack of relationship with our earthly fathers.)

How do you see your relationship with your earthly father impacting your relationship with your heavenly Father?

What are the benefits of being a child in God’s family?

When have you suffered and considered it sharing the suffering of Christ?

Thursday (4/24)

Read Romans 8:12-13

Explain what these verses are saying in your own words:

Where does our obligation lie- if it is not to our own bodies?

How have you seen this principle work in your own life- that living according to our flesh brings death?

How have you seen life coming from your choices to pursue what the Spirit desires for you?
