Ahhhh…Sunday
- Spend some time listening to music that focuses you on Jesus.
- Pray for your heart to be ready to be with the body this morning!
Ahhhh…Sunday
Reflect on the following questions:
Pray now and ask the Holy Spirit to point you on the path of life and give you deep joy.
Not long before this, Peter, following Jesus’ arrest, denied even knowing Jesus. And here he stands up to lead.
This passage speaks of prophecy being fulfilled hundreds of years after it was spoken, miracles, wonders in the heavens, and the raising of the dead.
On a separate piece of paper, describe what you see in your mind’s eye happening here.
The church—these people—first obeyed what Jesus told them to do (return to Jerusalem).
Then they prayed together—men and women joined together.
It had to be pretty revolutionary for the men and women to pray together as the Jewish synagogue had separate sections.
Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you if there are steps of obedience He would want you to take today.
I loved how in the video yesterday the guys explained that the same author (Luke) wrote both Luke and Acts.
He continues to share about what Jesus is up to as the Holy Spirit is given and the church begins to press on with what was started. Those listening to Jesus teach were still a bit confused (based on verse 6).
Ephesians 1: 13-14 explains that once we believed the message and were included in Christ, we were given the Holy Spirit as a seal of our adoption into God’s family.
Without the Spirit, we are not sealed, we are not a part of God’s family as a son or daughter (we are image bearers, but not children).
(if this is not yet a part of your story and you would like to hear more, please reach out to Keith, Andrew, Susan, or anyone on the leadership team—they would love to talk!)
What would the beginning of the devotional book be without watching our friends at the Bible Project!
Here is their summary of Acts:
