Sunday 9/19/21

Ahhhh…Sunday

  • Spend some time listening to music that focuses you on Jesus.
  • Pray for your heart to be ready to be with the body this morning!

Saturday 9/18/21

  • Read Acts 2:25-41

Reflect on the following questions:

  • How would you define the “promise” spoken of in verse 39?
  • How do you see yourself receiving this promise and then passing it on to the next generation? (whether your children are physical or spiritual children, God design is for us to ‘parent’ others to grow in His likeness!)
  • Luke quotes Psalm 16 in verse 28. When have you felt ‘joy in His presence’? What does that look like in your life?

Pray now and ask the Holy Spirit to point you on the path of life and give you deep joy.

Friday 9/17/21

  • Read Acts 2: 14-24

Not long before this, Peter, following Jesus’ arrest, denied even knowing Jesus. And here he stands up to lead.

  • What did Peter experience from Jesus to lead in this way?
  • What do we learn about Jesus from this passage?
  • What about God the Father?

This passage speaks of prophecy being fulfilled hundreds of years after it was spoken, miracles, wonders in the heavens, and the raising of the dead.

  • How do you see God’s power demonstrated today?
  • How do you see God’s power at work in your own life?

Thursday 9/16/21

  • Read Acts 2: 1-13

On a separate piece of paper, describe what you see in your mind’s eye happening here.

  • Thinking back to August, how does this scene point to God’s mercy?
  • Where do you see the Holy Spirit working today?

Wednesday 9/15/21

  • Read Acts 1: 12-26

The church—these people—first obeyed what Jesus told them to do (return to Jerusalem).

Then they prayed together—men and women joined together.

It had to be pretty revolutionary for the men and women to pray together as the Jewish synagogue had separate sections.

  • What does this demonstrate about how Jesus’ life witness had impacted them?
  • How does obedience play a part in your ongoing relationship with Jesus?
  • What about prayer?

Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you if there are steps of obedience He would want you to take today.

Tuesday 9/14/21

  • Read Acts 1: 1-11

I loved how in the video yesterday the guys explained that the same author (Luke) wrote both Luke and Acts.

He continues to share about what Jesus is up to as the Holy Spirit is given and the church begins to press on with what was started. Those listening to Jesus teach were still a bit confused (based on verse 6).

  • How does Jesus clarify what is going to happen?
  • In what ways have you seen the Holy Spirit bring power into your life?

Ephesians 1: 13-14 explains that once we believed the message and were included in Christ, we were given the Holy Spirit as a seal of our adoption into God’s family.

Without the Spirit, we are not sealed, we are not a part of God’s family as a son or daughter (we are image bearers, but not children).

  • What did this believing look like in your own life? How did you come to faith in Jesus as your savior?

(if this is not yet a part of your story and you would like to hear more, please reach out to Keith, Andrew, Susan, or anyone on the leadership team—they would love to talk!)

Monday 9/13/21

What would the beginning of the devotional book be without watching our friends at the Bible Project!

Here is their summary of Acts:

  • What stands out to you from the video?
  • What is confusing?
