Tuesday 5/9

  •   Read John 18: 1-14

As you read these verses, place yourself in the scene. Read slowly several times. Imagine yourself as various characters- immerse yourself in the details.

  • We last saw Judas at ‘the last supper’. Jesus washed his feet. How do you think Jesus feels in this moment?
  • Imagine you are one of the disciples—how are you feeling when you see Judas come to betray Jesus?
  • Explain in your own words what ‘the cup’ was that Jesus was referring to

Monday 5/8

  • Read John 18

What do we learn about who God or Jesus is from this chapter?

What do we learn about us as people from this chapter?

Sunday 5/7

As we prepare ourselves for the worship service today, pray for our body and our leaders to reflect a unity of mind and heart that reflects God’s unity within the Trinity.

Saturday 5/6

  • Read John 17

Try to condense chapter 17 into one sentence on a separate piece of paper

What are the 2 things you will remember most from this chapter?

Friday 5/5

  • Read John 17: 20-26

What is Jesus praying for all of us?

How does our unity make Jesus more credible to the world?

When have you seen a unity that could only be attributed to the Holy Spirit’s work?

Thursday 5/4

  • Read John 17: 13-19

Jesus asks the Father to sanctify us through the truth. Sanctify means ‘to set apart as or declare holy’.

How do you think the word helps you to be set apart?

Where, in your own life, are you prone to attack from satan? What are your weak spots?

Spend some time praying now asking the Spirit to make you wise and wary of your weaknesses, and for strength from his word.

Wednesday 5/3

  • Read John 17: 6-12

Jesus explains that He has shown us the Father. Think back over the past 16 chapters of John- what is the Father like?

What do you think that we need to be protected from?

Pray, as Jesus asked the Father, that we, His followers, would be one.
