Thursday 2/23/23

  • Read John 6: 44-59

What do we learn about Jesus from these verses?

How does someone get ‘drawn’ to Jesus by the Father? What does this look like?

What did it look like in your own life? Jesus, in 53-58, just says some confusing things. Why do you think He often is confusing in what He says?

Wednesday 2/22/23

  • Read John 6: 25-43

So Jesus confronts the people about their seeking a miracle, seeking food versus wanting to know Him.

What does your “seeking Jesus to know Him” look like in your own life? Are their practices you use (like the ones Andrew introduced as we worked through Exodus)?

According to Jesus, what does the Father want, or what is His will? Do you see any similarities in the peoples’ response to Jesus with your own life?

Tuesday 2/21/23

  • Read John 6: 16-24

I often have the picture of the disciples just understanding who Jesus was and getting the fuller picture. But that is not the story in the Gospels. They came to know and understand progressively—just like us.

If you are a disciple in the boat, what are you thinking and feeling as you see Jesus approach on the water?

I love that Jesus first tells them to not be afraid. So many times, I am afraid.

Where, in your life right now, do you need to hear “don’t be afraid”?

I also love you understated it is in verse 21, “immediately the boat reached the shore.” Jesus encouraged the disciples to see His power and His divinity.

Monday 2/20/23

  • Read John 6: 1-15

  • Describe a time when you felt tested like Phillip in verse 5?
  • Imagine you are one of the disciples. What are you thinking as Jesus blesses this small offering of food?
  • How about when you are serving as the food keeps multiplying?
  • What about when you collect your own basket of leftovers?
  • Do you believe that Jesus still does miracles?

Sunday 2/19/23

Jesus worked an amazing miracle in our chapter this past week, and also spent a lot of time on the word testimony.

As you sit, pray, and reflect this morning:

  • Is there a space or situation in our life that seems impossible that you could offer up to Jesus for His healing?
  • Think about your own testimony. In the past year, how have you seen the Holy Spirit forming you into Christlikeness?

Saturday 2/18/23

  • Read John 5

If you had to condense this chapter into one sentence, what would you say? Write out that sentence on a separate piece of paper.

What are the 2 things you will remember most from this chapter?

Thursday 2/16/23

  • Read John 5: 31-47

What do you learn about God the Father from this passage?

Why do you think Jesus is speaking about His testimony?

Why do you think that the Son is given all judgment and not the Father? Just your ideas! I don’t know either 🙂
