SERVE

  • Jesus taught and modeled a way of missional living that has radically influenced people and cultures for centuries. Jesus is still active today, and we seek to join him in the work he’s already doing. One of our goals is to equip each follower of Jesus to be on mission with God and with each other in daily life. This includes each person being missional where God has placed us (neighborhood, workplace, family, friends), as well as participating in local and global mission with the church.

    • We encourage everyone to serve in some capacity on Sunday mornings, whether in the worship gatherings or in Kids Ministry. We put together a new volunteer schedule every four months (Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sep-Dec).

    • We also encourage you to volunteer and partner with our local and global mission partners

  • A lot of work goes into our Sunday Worship gatherings. You can volunteer to help in the following areas:

    • Setup Team: This team prepares the facility for service on Sunday morning. Some tasks include setting up chairs, coffee preparation, putting signs and offering boxes into place.

    • Teardown Team: Put away equipment from gymnasium following service. Tasks include breaking down coffee station, putting away chairs, signs, and tables. No skills or expertise required. Volunteers generally serve once or twice a month.

    • Technology (Sound/Media): Help with the audio-visual components of the service. You can choose to operate the sound board and/or computer. If you're new to serving in this area, you will be trained by an experienced team member.

    • Worship Team: Be part of the worship team—voice, instrument, or in rotation to lead.

    • Greeting: All you need is a friendly smile and a warm hand.

    • Safety: Safety personnel are focused on ensuring the safety of individuals and preserving the security of the facility.  They lock the kid’s entrances after the service starts and monitor hallways during the service.

    • Communion Server: Each Sunday we have six servers who stand in pairs to offer the bread and the cup to people as they come to receive communion.

    • Scripture Reader: Each Sunday before the sermon, a volunteer reads the main scripture text. Readings are sent out a few days in advance so you can be prepared.

  • Each Sunday, we need at least two volunteers for each Kids classroom, as well as one volunteer to run the check-in table as families arrive. For the safety of the kids, all Kids Ministry volunteers must be established in the church family for a period of time and undergo a background check before serving.

    • Check-in: Check kids in as they arrive using our ChurchTeams safety system. New volunteers will be trained to run the system.

    • Nursery (Ages 6 months - 3 years): Arrive by 10:15 so that you are there to greet the littlest ones as they arrive. Offer care and comfort to the kids in your time which will include play, a snack, and a Bible story. Stay in the classroom until each child has been picked up by their adult.

    • PreK - 1st: Be ready in your classroom when kids are dismissed for class. Be prepared for high energy play, a Bible lesson, a snack, and a craft each week. Stay in the classroom until each child has been picked up by their adult.

    • 2nd -5th: Be ready in your classroom when kids are dismissed for class. Teach a Bible lesson and a craft, and escort the kids back to the worship gathering to find their adult when the safety volunteer lets you know it’s time for communion.
