Monday 12/20/21

Begin with this prayer:

O come, key of David, the Lord of the heavens and all that I can see. I sit with You right now. I quiet my heart to listen to you. As I run the race you’ve set before me today, help me to look towards you who authored and are perfecting my faith. Give me clear and safe passage on the road you’ve set before me. Show me Your good and wise path and give me the desire to follow.

Read these verses aloud several times or listen to the audio recording several times:

Psalm 127

A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves.

3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.

4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.

5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.

  • What is the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart today? What pops out to you from reading and/or listening?

Sunday 12/19/21

Begin with this prayer:

O come, Rod of Jesse, the Lord of the heavens and all that I can see. I sit with You right now. I quiet my heart to listen to you. As I run the race you’ve set before me today, help me to look towards you who authored and are perfecting my faith. Set me free from the powers that hold me captive, from my own desires that trip me up. I look to You for victory.

Read these verses aloud several times or listen to the audio recording several times:

Psalm 126

A song of ascents.

1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed.

2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

3 The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.

4 Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev.

5 Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.

6 Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

  • What great things have you seen the Lord do for you? On a separate piece of paper, write out a prayer to Him.

3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.

4 Lord, do good to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.

5 But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers.
