Monday (6/7/21) Week 1, Day 1

MORNING/MIDDAY OFFICE

  • Silence and Stillness before God (2 minutes)
  • Scripture Reading: Mark 11:15 – 17 (NIV)

On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

MIDDAY/EVENING OFFICE

  • Silence, Stillness, and Centering before God (2 minutes)
  • Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 15:22 – 23 (NIV)

But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

From June 7th to August 1st our Daily Devotional is adapted from the book Emotionally Healthily Spirituality – Day by Day. We encourage getting a copy of the book for additional devotional readings and questions.

SUNDAY 6/6/21

Today as a church family, we are going to be starting a new series based on the book
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Take some time to pray for folks in our church that come to
mind throughout your day today.

SATURDAY 6/5/21

  • Read Galatians 6

Consider the following questions:

  • What stands out to you as interesting in today’s chapter?
  • How is God speaking to you through this passage today?

FRIDAY 6/4/21

  • Read Galatians 5

There is a lot packed in this chapter today. Like yesterday, let’s do the Know-Be-Do questions again:

  • KNOW – What does the text say about God?
  • BE – What does the text say about us?
  • DO – What is the text calling you to do?

Galatians 5:22-23 outlines the fruit of the spirit.

  • In what ways do you see the spirit working in your life?
  • Is their fruit missing in your life right now?

THURSDAY 6/3/21

  • Read Galatians 4

Let’s do the Know-Be-Do questions though this chapter today:

  • KNOW – What does the text say about God?
  • BE – What does the text say about us?
  • DO – What is the text calling you to do?

Take time to think through these questions as you reflect on the passage today.

WEDNESDAY 6/2/21

  • Read Galatians 3

Reflect on the following questions today:

  • How is God speaking to you through this passage?
  • In what ways do you trust more in “human effort” than in the Spirit (v.3)?
  • How is our relationship with the law defined in this chapter?
  • Spend some time pondering verses 26-29.

TUESDAY 6/1/21

  • Read Galatians 2

As you go about your day today, consider the following questions:

  • What are three things to reflect on from today’s reading?
  • Take time to read Galatians 2:20 slowly. How does this verse impact you today?
