WEDNESDAY (10/21/20)

Read Romans 6:8-14

  • How did Jesus get victory over death?
  • What does this mean for you and I?
  • Which parts of your body are the most prone to be offered as instruments of sin?
  • How, in practical ways, can you offer them to God to be used for righteousness?

Spend some time right now sitting with the Holy Spirit and just being honest about where you need help.

WEEK 2 MEMORY VERSE:
ROMANS 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

TUESDAY (10/20/20)

Remember to pray and ask the Lord for wisdom. You also have a new memory verse for this week!

Read Romans 6:1-7

Again, Paul poses the question of whether or not we should seek to sin more because it brings more grace. And again he says, “NO”!

  • How exactly have we “died to sin?” Explain this idea:
  • What does it mean that we are united with Christ in His death?
  • How does this, in practical, everyday ways, enable us to live a new life?

  • KNOW – What does the text say about God?
  • BE – What does the text say about us?
  • DO – What is the text calling me to do?

Write out the whole verse that you want to stick with you throughout the day today.

SUNDAY (10/18/20)

As has become the normal rhythm, let’s take some time this morning to just rest in the presence of the Father. Sit quietly and just picture yourself there with the Lord. Picture His face smiling at you and His arms holding you.

Just sit and rest with Him.

    -Consequences through Adam
    -Consequences through Jesus
  • How does the obedience of Jesus encourage you to obey right now?
  • I suppose it follows that if Jesus demonstrated obedience to us,then He could have chosen disobedience? How do you feel about this?
  • Today, if you’ve allowed Jesus to pay the penalty for your sins, God calls you “righteous.” How can you see evidence of His righteousness in you?
