Monday (6/3/24)

As we read through the Psalms you are invited to do some highlighting or marking in your Bible if you’d like.

We are going to keep track of just a couple major themes and see them repeated and reinforced:

  • The righteous versus the wicked
  • The importance of relying on God and his Word.
  • God’s sovereignty and rule over all people and nations.
  • The interplay between divine and human kingship.
  • God as a place of refuge for all.

Be creative for yourself, or use the following options as they seem useful:

  • Lightly draw a large ‘R’ where righteousness is in the text
  • Lightly draw a large ‘W’ where wickedness is in the text
  • Draw a lightbulb or pick a certain color to underline those passages about God’s word and our reliance on it.
  • Draw a ruler in the places it mentions God’s rule and sovereignty.
  • Draw a crown with either a large ‘G’ or ‘H’ inside to represent God’s kingship or human kingship.
  • Draw a wing for references to God being our refuge or shelter.

You can also just choose several colors to mark the themes!

Read each Psalm through twice slowly – listening for words or phrases that pop out.

Saturday (6/1/24)

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST

Read Philippians 4:10-13 slowly and out loud if possible.
Ask the Holy Spirit to speak this truth to your heart.

How have you felt God strengthen you in this past month?

How does our contentment (or lack thereof) reflect our trust in God’s provision?

Where are you in need of strength right now? Stop and pray about some specific areas, some of your “all things”.

Read Philippians 4:10-13 slowly and out loud again.
Sit quietly after you read.
What are you sensing the Spirit saying to your heart?

Set a phone reminder for midday and evening to review these verses and quiet your heart for a few minutes.
This will help us to be reminded of His presence with us all day long.

Friday (5/31/24)

I AM GOD’S WORKMANSHIP

Read Ephesians 2:6-10 slowly and out loud if possible.
Ask the Holy Spirit to speak this truth to your heart.

When I think of being God’s handiwork or workmanship (depending on your translation), I can’t help but think of God forming the man and the woman in Eden. Intimately involved in their creation and animation.
Where do you see evidence of divine workmanship in yourself? Don’t breeze past this question- sit with it.

What are some of the good works God planned for you to be about doing?

How does it feel to know that God planned in advance for you- he fashioned you for His good work?

Read Ephesians 2:6-10 slowly and out loud again.
Sit quietly after you read.
What are you sensing the Spirit saying to your heart?

Set a phone reminder for midday and evening to review these verses and quiet your heart for a few minutes.
This will help us to be reminded of His presence with us all day long.

What is significant about our being seated with Christ?

What can you say about who God is according to these verses?

Read Ephesians 1:18-2:7 slowly and out loud again.
