Sunday 11/6/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 13-16

KNOW (what does the text say about God?)

BE (What does the text say about us?)

DO (what is the text calling me to do?)

Take time today to think through those questions from this passage.

Saturday 11/5/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 8-12

Humbly ask for the Spirit’s help to grow through the word.

Verse 8 says that Abraham believed God and it moved him to obedient action. How do you think this works in your own life?

  • How is your own faith and your obedience tied together?
  • What do we learn or see about Abraham’s faith from this passage?

If you know the whole story from Genesis, you know that both Abraham and Sarah had their share of missteps along the way. God never zaps them! Instead, they are praised and remembered for their overall walk of faith.

How have you seen God, in your own life or others’ close to you, reward the “long, obedient walking in the same direction”? – even with failures along the way?

Friday 11/4/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 7 and Genesis 6

Stop and pray for wisdom from the Spirit.

KNOW (what does the text say about God?)

BE (What does the text say about us?)

DO (what is the text calling me to do?)

Take time today to think through those questions from this passage.

Thursday 11/3/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 5-6

Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you today.

  • Why does it seem that Enoch pleased God? What did he do?
  • What leads you to believe seriously that God exists?
  • How have you seen Him reward your searching for Him?

Wednesday 11/2/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 4 and Genesis 4: 1-16

Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you through these words.

KNOW (what does the text say about God?)

BE (What does the text say about us?)

DO (what is the text calling me to do?)

On a separate piece of paper, take time today to think through those questions from this passage:

KNOW:

BE:

DO:

Tuesday 11/1/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 3 and Genesis 1

We are going to spend some time in these weeks using the Know, Be, Do method of study. There is so much to dig out of these lives of faith we will be reading about.

Imagine their lives, their thoughts, what moved them to action.

Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you through His word:

KNOW (what does the text say about God?)

BE (What does the text say about us?)

DO (what is the text calling me to do?)

  • Take time today to think through those questions from this passage as you go about your day today

Monday 10/31/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 1-2

How have you seen the Lord grow your faith in the years that you have known Him?

Who has been an example of an active, presently engaged, faith in your own life?

  • On a separate piece of paper, describe a time when your faith led you to be certain of something that you could not see.
