Sunday 11/13/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 39-40

As you, in your own life, are writing verses 41 and beyond, who can you be a witness to this week in the area of faith?

Who could you encourage or share how your faith has grown?

Saturday 11/12/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 32-38

  • On a separate piece of paper, take some time to list out all the actions driven/ prompted by faith
  • Are there ways that you can relate to them in your own life/ hardships?
  • Where do you need to see faith in action in your own life? How do you want to see your faith grow?

Friday 11/11/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 31, Joshua 2, and James 2: 25-26

Rahab’s faith lands her in the direct lineage of Jesus. I love that she is mentioned by name over and over and given such esteem in times when women had no esteem.

  • When have you acted in faith in a situation where there was some risk in obeying the Lord?
  • What encourages you from Rahab’s story?

Thursday 11/10/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 29-30

Remember to ask the Spirit to guide your thoughts.

Exodus 14 and Joshua 3-4 tell these two stories longhand. They are well worth the read!

The author of Hebrews talks about the ‘faith of the Israelites’ and ‘the faith of the army’.

  • Think about our body- Riverside.
  • How do you see us acting in faith either in the present or in the past?
  • Spend some time praying for our body to be a place where faith thrives and grows.

Wednesday 11/9/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 23-28

How do you see, in Moses’ actions, his faith throughout his life?

In your own life, what has given you evidence of the “God who can’t be seen”?

Tuesday 11/8/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 21-22

Seek the Spirit’s leading as you read.

Jacob receives his limb and his walking stick through a wrestling match with God to receive a blessing. I’ve always found it so cool that the writer chooses to mention this small detail in his account.

And Joseph had so much faith that he asked for his bones to be taken to the Promised Land when the Israelites left Egypt.

We see in these few verses that the lineage of Abraham continues. Abraham- Isaac- Jacob- Joseph.

  • How do you see faith in your own family lineage influencing you?
  • What sort of legacy are you hoping to pass to those around you?

Monday 11/7/22

  • Read Hebrews 11: 17-20

Pray and ask the Spirit to lead & guide you.

Beginning in Genesis 12, you can read Abraham’s story in length! It’s pretty incredible.

Last week, we talked about how Abraham’s faith moved him to action.

  • What action do you see in this passage?
  • Does anything stand out about Isaac?

  • Read James 2: 20-24

What else do we learn about the faith of Abe?

How does this relate to your walk today? What can you apply today?
